Friends,
On July 13th we’ll gather in the streets of Washington, DC to tell President Obama and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission: NO to gas exports, NO to more fracking, and YES to the wind and solar power that won’t leak, explode or poison our communities.
A few updates from us:
1. We need lots of support to make this rally a success. Can you sign up to help volunteer? We have two main volunteer roles--check what works for you. Then, fill out your information and an organizer will follow up with you about the next steps.
2. Need a ride? Click here to join a bus or carpool. Buses are available from all over the Mid-Atlantic:
• Douglassville and King of Prussia, PA
• Lusby and Prince Frederick, MD
• New York City, NY
• Richmond and Charlottesville, VA
3. Can you bring a friend and spread the word on social media about the rally?
• Click here to spread the word about available buses on Facebook, so we can make sure everyone can get down to DC!
• Share Bill McKibben’s message; come to DC and take action on fracked gas exports!
4. Tell us your FERC or fracking story: In 50 words or less, share with us your local struggle and the name and website of the organization you're part of. We will be sharing this with the press to show the strength of our movement! Please send to berksgastruth@gmail.com.
Let's keep up the pressure all the way up to the 13th. FERC knows we’re taking a stand against their rubber stamp practices. Last week they faced dozens of activists picketing at their front door, saying NO to fracked gas exports at Cove Point.
It’s time to show the Obama Administration that clean energy is the real solution. Be on the lookout for an email next week with final updates and reminders--and be sure to check out www.stopgasexports.org to answer any questions.
Thank you for coming out to support the movement to stop LNG exports!
The Stop Gas Exports Rally Steering Committee,
Carolyn Auwauter, Robin Broder, Linda Capato,
Tracy Carluccio, Karen Feridun, Allison Fisher,
Ted Glick, Drew Hudson, Whit Jones, Shilpa Joshi,
Aaron Mintzes, Deb Nardone, Jill Weiner, and Emily Wurth
