Join us for a lunchtime demonstration, press conference, and rally outside of the Smithsonian's Board meeting Monday, June 15th when we'll:
- Call on the Smithsonian to cut its ties with the Fossil Fuel Industry and Funders of Climate Denial
- Deliver a Petition with more than 300,000 signatures calling on the Smithsonian to KICK KOCH OFF THE BOARD! (Sign- here!)
- Call on the Smithsonian to "FIX IT OR TAKE IT DOWN!" The climate theme of the Koch-funded Hall of Human Origins exhibit must be corrected so that it tells the truth about the role fossil fuels play in the climate crisis.
WHERE: Closest Metro Stop: Smithsonian - Take the Mall Exit
- Outside of the Board meeting at the Smithsonian Castle, 1000 Jefferson Drive, SW, Washington, DC
- After demonstrating there, we'll march to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for a press conference and rally, 10th St and Madison Drive, NW, Washington, DC
WHEN:
- 12:15 pm - Gather at the carousel across from the Smithsonian Castle
- 12:30 - 12:50 pm - Picket line / demo outside of the board meeting at the Castle. We'll be just outside the room where the board meets.
- 12:50 - 1:10 pm - Walking procession from the Castle to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
- 1:10 - 2:00 pm - Press conference and rally outside of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
